Am I allowed to take my child out of school during term time?

You will need permission to take your child out of school during term time and this permission needs to come from the headteacher.

What happens if I don't get permission from the school?

Are there any circumstances that I can take my child out of school without being fined?

Children can be absent if: - they are sick or if there is an unavoidable cause - they are absent on a day exclusively set aside for religious observance There are a number of other defences available depending on your circumstances and we would encourage you to contact us to discuss them with you.
